Dermatology TCM
Fundamentals of Dermatology in Chinese Medicine
Skin disorders in their many forms remain among the most common diseases afflicting humanity, accounting for roughly 20% of all visits to medical practitioners.
Despite the scale of the problem and the resources invested in conventional dermatology, many patients remain dissatisfied with the treatments available to them and seek alternatives.
After more than 40 years in clinical practice, I am completely convinced that Chinese herbal medicine offers a genuine and enduring solution for a vast number of people suffering from common skin diseases. It can produce profound and lasting change in conditions that are often considered stubborn or treatment-resistant, including eczema, rosacea, acne, and psoriasis.
In this lecture I will outline the fundamentals of Chinese medicine dermatology, and use multiple clinical case examples to illustrate some of the core concepts and approaches employed in treating these recalcitrant diseases.
